My first Mother’s Day.
Yep, that’s my boy’s handprint!
Pretty sure it trumps birthdays, Christmasses, and everything else in between.
It’s looks like this that will forever melt my heart!
Best first mom’s day EVER!!!

I am a Type 1, insulin-dependent diabetic. I was diagnosed with diabetes at 9 years old – 25 years later, I have never been healthier. I credit a lot of that health to my running, as well as my love for cycling and hiking. This is my journey.
BG: blood glucose
INSULIN PUMP: a medical device that delivers insulin without requiring multiple needle injections a day
BOLUS: rapid-acting insulin used to balance BG levels when eating, or when the levels are above normal range
BASAL: "background" insulin that acts almost like a pancreas in the fact that small doses are delivered throughout the day (with the pump) to manage normal daily BG fluctuations
HGa1C: average blood glucose reading over a three-month period
